The Development Grants and the STEM Innovation Grants have been temporarily suspended while we offer a special cycle of Community Relief Micro-Grants that support libraries’ efforts to address COVID-relief and social justice issues.

Since 1992, we have awarded over $125,000 to more than 200 library initiatives throughout New Mexico. The NMLF grant process is competitive and opens three application cycles each year. The Brooke E. Sheldon Scholarship accepts applications year-round. Grantees must submit an application for grant funds and a grantee final report in accordance with the time frame outlined in the Project Description. 2020 Community Relief Micro Grants
In order to assist New Mexico libraries disproportionately affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, the economic recession, and social justice issues, the New Mexico Library Foundation will provide relief funding of up to ten $500 micro grants.
Guidelines:
- Amount awarded: $500.00
Support of up to $500 per library for a one-time grant. - Applications accepted: October 1 – November 30, 2020

Brooke E. Sheldon Grant for Continuing Library Education
In memory of Brooke E. Sheldon, NMLF is able to support continuing education of librarians and library workers in New Mexico.
Guidelines:
- Amount awarded: up to $250
- Applications accepted on a rolling basis

Development Grant
*The Developmental Grant is temporarily suspended while we offer a special cycle of Community Relief Micro-Grants to support libraries’ through the 2020 chaos.
Ongoing donations to NMLF and fundraising by board members make these grants possible.
Guidelines:
- Amount awarded: up to $1,000
- Applications accepted: March 15 – April 30 and August 15 – September 30

STEM Innovation Grants
*The STEM Innovation Grant is temporarily suspended while we offer a special cycle of Community Relief Micro-Grants to support libraries’ through the 2020 chaos.
This grant opportunity made available due to a generous donation from the Alliance for Information Science and Technology Innovation (AISTI).
Guidelines:
- Amount awarded: $3,000 – $5,000
- Application deadline: November 30
