Since 1992, we have awarded over $125,000 to more than 200 library initiatives throughout New Mexico. The NMLF grant process is competitive and opens three application cycles each year. The Brooke E. Sheldon Scholarship accepts applications year-round. Grantees must submit an application for grant funds and a grantee final report in accordance with the time frame outlined in the Project Description. Development Grant

The Development Grant supports initiatives to build and maintain collections, update information access technology, and enhance library programs.

Guidelines:

  • Amount awarded: up to $2,000
  • Application Due Date: April 30

Brooke E. Sheldon Grant for Continuing Library Education

In memory of Brooke E. Sheldon, NMLF is able to support continuing education of librarians and library workers in New Mexico.

Guidelines:

  • Amount awarded: up to $500
  • Applications accepted on a rolling basis

 Please consider applying for this grant to take advantage of online professional development opportunities that will strengthen your ability to meet your community’s online service needs and provide a COVID-safe welcome for visiting patrons.

STEM Innovation Grants

This grant opportunity made available due to a generous donation from the Alliance for Information Science and Technology Innovation (AISTI).

Guidelines:

  • Amount awarded: $3,000 – $5,000
  • Application deadline: November 30

2020 Community Relief Micro Grants

In order to assist New Mexico libraries disproportionately affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, the economic recession, and social justice issues, the New Mexico Library Foundation provided relief funding for ten $500 micro grants.

Guidelines:

  • Amount awarded: $500.00
    Support of up to $500 per library for a one-time grant.
  • Applications accepted: October 1 – November 30, 2020
